Interesting. maybe we need to work as hard at our 'hobbies' as we do our jobs! I plan to continue to work on the farm, not because I have to, but because I enjoy it. Though it does ring true to what you say above, jaycee!

Sounds like you've done well! I'd certainly be interested in hearing you share your strategy. What concerned me was the way the previous guy approached me. Email, PM, and posting the same thing. Has he posted any more since? I enjoy investing, and want to be at the point where i can continue...

Why would i call if there is no such thing? Why are you on this site if you are happy to retire at 65? Is the reason there is no way to retire within 5 years because you don't know of one? Should we discuss it with Nathan Birch, or possibly Steve McKnight? There is a degree of risk people are...

I certainly hope so Jaycee. In the original post i described 'retirement' as working when i want/for myself. I do not mean sleeping 'till 12 every day, then dawdling around the garden before putting my teeth back in the jar at 6pm and watching my 'stories' for the rest of the evening. Time will...

Thanks piaatcaso, I really appreciate the spam email too! It took you 19 years to retire? I think you're confused by the phrase "early retirement" Regards

Hmm, you've got me thinking... What is to stop one buying cbs in the US to qualify for finance over there? I guess no-one can answer that one!

So we've established that it's possible to LOE partly right now, and all kudos to you guys! Does anyone live completely on equity right now? Does increasing equity/rents satisfy servicability requirements? If so, I think this a good plan, as long as you don't spend all your equity as you get...

Surely you two (Rixter and Dazz) don't have a problem with my plan of half equity, have cashflow?

Wow! 7-10 times lifestyle costs! I'd be happy with 40k, as long as i have the opportunity to increase that. Similar to what i am doing now, but using a small amount of the equity to fund lifestyle etc. As Peter mentioned above, perhaps i'm asking too much in this economy. I imagine it...

Thanks for the well thought out response Peter. I suppose the economy could have completely changed by that stage anyway! Maybe loans will be really easy to get, and banks will be pushing them on people. Perhaps if i run out of servicability and am still unsure, i will re-post the above :)...

Aaah. Just the man to reply! Your previous posts are the ones where i got the cashbond idea! Would you mind expanding on the above for me? (or give me a link to somewhere that will explain?)

Hi All I'm a little confused right now! My goal through investing, is to not have to work for someone else, and be able to work when i want - if at all. (after i have got to the stage of being bored with golf everyday ;)) Apart from that, i'm not sure! I need some clarification as to...
