I called CBA - they said 5.79% for 3 years or 5.59% for 2 years - I think would be good to go with 3 years. lower the better - but may be don't have enough borrowings!

Yeah thats what we wish to do - to have a separate loan for top ups, as the funds are likely to be used for another purchase - it would help segregate.

Virgo, did they give you this rate as you have certain amount of borrowings from them? I am on a wealth package, and it appears they are offering 5.79% 3 year fixed. I am not too sure how to approach this - I definitely want more of a discount given I fixed one last year at a very high rate...
