Probably a stupid question but would it work?

Dodgy is dodgy. As they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.

Nathan you are renowned on this forum for doing the impossible. But where can we find a caravan park for $400,000? I've looked into it as a land banking exercise but had no luck.

Get a shovel, gloves and some PVC pipe. As far as I know, you don't need a plumber for sewage connections. Why pay a grand for work that you can do in a weekend.

Perfect! These caravans with an inbuilt shower and toilet are pretty rare. Grab it mate. It's cheap! I am guessing but in WA or the NT, you could get $150-$200 a week renting this beauty out. You will probably make a few bucks on the caravan, as I did, when you get tired of sharing your land...

Probably a stupid question but would it work?

Back in the 90s we were getting around $100 a week. It went towards the mortgage. Keep your eyes peeled for caravans at auctions, including accident damaged ones (you only need to tow it there and keep it parked for a few years). I once bought a massive 3 room caravan for just $3000, it was...

Most apprentices would know. Plenty are looking for weekend work. Try advertising in Gumtree. In our case, we used buried PVC pipe for plumbing rather than copper. The power was external and raised above ground, trailing a fence, in a secluded part of the block so it was not noticeable. Burying...

Pensioners are good, provided they don't drink too much. God forbid if they die in the caravan!!

Probably a stupid question but would it work?

You need tradie mates. Or find a moonlighting apprentice on Gumtree who can do it safely. Tell them you are using it as a storage shed. The worst they can do is ask you to move it. If done nicely, it may even add a bit of value when you sell your PPOR someday. Here is the biggest caveat...

Probably a stupid question but would it work?

I was once in your shoes and desperate for yield to pay off our mates the Banks. If you live in your PPOR and have civilized friends in the caravan who don't upset the neighbours, I doubt if Council would care. Remember Council only bothers you when malicious people complain or when there are...

Probably a stupid question but would it work?

I did it with a PPOR many years ago. Friends stayed in the Caravan, they were sensible people so there were no issues. Problems with Council only arise when tenants or other malicious people complain. With landscaping, patio, external toilet/bath its a great idea. Be aware that...
