Diet, Exercise and Weight loss - help!

In my experience, the sensation of full and empty gets completely out of whack when you are overweight, particularly if you have yo-yo dieted. I feel it now (like RIGHT now! ;) )... but for many years I never really experienced hunger at all, and I only experienced "full" when I was...

I dont troll your posts.... in fact I do all I can to avoid them, and I do my best not to reply to them. I dont care what advice you offer to people, unless you tell them to ignore medical advice or to avoid going to see a doctor or that recognised medical treatment is dangerous to peoples...

IndexFund, you need to stop giving medical advice on the forum, particularly advising people to go against doctors recommendations. Its completely inappropriate, even for someone with medical qualifications to do this, let alone someone who's knowledge is based on google

Its always good to get a check up if you have unexplained weight loss, as there are lots of issues where that is one of the first symptoms, and its good to get them investigated to rule them out as a cause.

well done! great results and the fact that you've done it slowly over a longer period of time means that you are more likely to keep the weight off. Make sure you keep a stable weight for at least a year after you stop losing, cause that helps to reset your body.

I lost 40kg a few years ago. Everything pretty much shrunk with the weight. I still had a tummy, probably more childbirth related than weight related. the only place that didnt shrink were my triceps....... but I've always had tuckshop arms! cheers Pen

I agree with you to a certain extent........ I may have already posted this on the thread, but last year I had my blood sugars tested, after putting on 20kg in 12 months. I had been having very intense sugar cravings, like crawling up the walls cravings, and had been eating family blocks of...

Went to Dr this morning... he can notice weight loss, even since last visit, which is encouraging. He thinks lung problem is probably short term, so I have some meds for that, and we'll see how it goes. But the big news is that my BP is still very low, despite halving the meds I was taking. It...

I;ve lost about 0.5 kg since I finished my "lay down" diet 2 weeks ago. I thought i might have bounced back up again, so I was pleased that I've kept off the weight that I lost when I was sick. i did formal exercise yday for first time since i was sick, and i suspect I have some lingering...

It can be a great incentive, but it can also be a great danger.... it tends to be the time when you start to think you've been working too hard to too long and "deserve" to have some time off the eating plan and begin to "treat" yourself to little snacks etc....... so be vigilant! Pen

Diet, Exercise and Weight loss - help!

I weighed myself this morning, for the first time in 3 weeks or so.... I've lost an additional 3 kg, for a total of 10kg since February. In the past 3 weeks I've had pleurisy, and was in bed/ lying down/ hardly moving for around 5 days, and then had a week or so of reasonable health, and then...

While I agree with this all of this in theory, my experience of insulin resistance was different to what I would have expected, and while I know its a "lifestyle" disease, the impact of it makes it almost impossible to lose weight. I started to get the first signs of it after having lost a...

Diet, Exercise and Weight loss - help!

I'm officially diagnosed as insulin resistant, or pre-diabetes.... saw there were a few comments about it, so thought I'd give my understanding. I may have already said this in an earlier post, but worth repeating anyway, given the number of comments around it. In a general fasting blood test...

I would be a size 6 if I weighed 54kg! I was a mixture of size 8 and 10 at 70kg... don't want to think about what size I am now! I have the WiiFit Plus. For the Boxing, you need a numchuck. With jogging, just try just walking quickly around the jogging track, and use big arm movements.... Its...

Diet, Exercise and Weight loss - help!

Hi, I use the WiiFit as my primary exercise..... and find it really useful. My balance is very dodgy, so its helped alot with that, and I like that I get "feedback" on how accurately I'm doing the exercise. I also like that I don't need to go out to exercise! Its also the only time I weigh...

I assume you mean that your BP was 110/70... Keep getting the dr to check your BP. I started feeling quite sick on my pills after about 3 mths... I'd lost about 8kg. My BP was getting lower and lower, but my pulse was racing. Apparently, this is a bad combination. I thought it was caused by...

Diet, Exercise and Weight loss - help!

I think one additional issue to be aware of for obese people is that their excess body weight can sometimes mean that exercise against body weight can also be damaging, without even adding in additional weights. If you are 25 kg overweight, then exercising against body weight is a significant...
