    Did you notice whether the 3 year fixed moved? Just that I thought it was at 5.59% a couple of weeks back when I first got into discussions with Nab but now it is 5.54%. Not a lot I know but if this was the case it has dropped a smidge. I am still waiting for the callback to do the application...

I think the main worry about fixing would be if someone fixed, then lost their job and was forced to sell but couldn't afford to do that either because of the big break costs whilst the rates are...

    Yes that happened with our St George 3 year fixed, we went in at 6 something and came back out at Christmas at 6 something.

    It seems just to be called a 'Residential Investment Property Loan' but on the website at the same rate is a product called 'Simplicity Plus' which is the same interest rate. But yes those loans are over $250,000 so that could be it.

    I would hope that with all of the rent increases over the 5,7 or 10 years you would be able to weather whatever rates you come back out into, especially if the fixed rate is so low that the surplus funds being saved in interest each month in the meantime are squirrelled away for a rainy day...

    The CBA 5 year package rate is 6.99% and they have a ten year at 7.09%.
