    So much for global warming

I'd reckon 'global warming' was a bad idea when people could see all the cooling happening. So it's now called 'climate change'. And what a great idea by the believers! So now, if it's hot, it's caused by humans. and if it's freezing it's also caused by humans. If there is a drought it's...

I just went back over the entire thread. What a great lot of stuff on here. And some acurate predictions from some. See ya's.

    So much for global warming

In some ways it is and in others it's not. The whole global warming con has started an entire industry of people who rely on it to keep going to keep their jobs or even to have any relevance with their professions. We can even observe this with numerous posters/members on this site. An...

We have had just the right amount. 150 mls in the last few weeks. Hardly a drop ran off, and we have been planting sunflowers. Just not far from here, north west about a hundred k's there's been 400 mls:eek: We wouldn't have wanted that, too much. Check my farm thread in 10 minutes and I'll show...

What about 'The year without a summer'. 1816. Caused by the Mount Tambora eruption of 1815, on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia, the largest known eruption in over 1,600 years. There was frosts and snow all over north America and Europe during summer which killed off the crops. If that...

    So much for global warming

Funny you should mention that. I'm currently reading the book 'Climate Wars' by Gwynne Dyer, a geopolitical analyst, speciallising in war. He's obviously a firm believer, and the book goes into nothing about the possibilities of warming, but just assumes it's happening and going to happen badly...

Yes, thought that. Also, researchers would do well to look a bit further and deeper into things. The trial that 'Our Obsession' put as an example of why chemical fertilizers are bad, the study stopped at the farm gate...

Also, zero-till hasn't caught on much in the US yet. They still plough it all up. Not much need to zero-till and leave your stubble if your getting 800 mills of incrop rainfall every year without fail. Lets see their trial results after 10 years of zero-till..? See ya's.

That's not what I've found OO. We have increased soil fertility and soil carbon by using artificial fertilizer. But we could have increased it further by using natural legumes. Perhaps the trial found that the best was natural N from legumes? That would be right too. Just as I said in my post...

I'm thinking Kev will save the day in Copenhagan. I reckon Kev will close the whole silly carbon belching fun fest with an apology. Kev will get up and apologise on behalf of all us greedy westerners for causing this whole mess and for burning all the fossil fuels and creating all this...

That really is a balanced article. It's balanced on the fence like a trapese artist. It's a fence sitting article and says nothing except that we need to do something, but doesn't say what or how. ......."This newspaper believes that global warming is a serious threat, and that the world...

    So much for global warming

Cows can convert the lowest quality feed into beef. Dry rank old grass, growing on poor unarable land that couldn't produce food otherwise. Put a mob of kangaroos or almost any other non-ruminant animal on the same feed and they would soon starve. I'd have thought the carbon/methan cycle in...

Yeah, too right it is. The national polies who have rejected this crazy scheme would have got rotten eggs thrown at them in their rural electorates if they had of gone with the ETS. It's fairly easy to work out that rural areas will be far more effected than the city. And good on the city...
