Interesting post, imho, for Melbourne, the sweet spot is anywhere between 10-15km radius and towards the Eastern end. Not too far from CBD but also not too close so it doesn't "feel" like a work day. Any suburbs closer and it feels like a bit too close to CBD with very small parcels of land...
