    Alright, here's another one. "for free" - I hate it! "Buy one, get one for free" scream the banners. No, I buy one and I get one for nothing, or I get one free. Not "for free."

    Great book http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eats,_Shoots_&_Leaves The book this wiki refers to is a great read. I'd never thought that punctuation could be so amusing and interesting. Highly recommended. You should find it in the non-fiction section of your local library (421.1 TRU).

    A guy I used to work for was terrible at spelling and grammar. He would give me a lot of his documents to proof-read. All errors were "typos", even when he'd write a complete sentence that didn't make any sense. eg. "We will provides trained for you staff" So - errors in this thread are...

    Yes!! Aaarrrghhhh!!!! Oh, why did I start this thread? :mad: :eek: :D I thought I got over all this grammar stuff when I "writ" a piece at school (OK, so it was longer ago than I'd like to admit) entitled "How to talk proper" and broke all the rules.

    I wasn't at school that long ago, but this was one that was definitely taught. Why do people "nowadays" keep mucking it up!?!?! Am I just getting too old? Does anyone else have a particular grammatical/spelling error that irks them?
