$2 a day food budget

The mind ponders ;)

Take some time away from the property forum and get a comparative physiology book out of your local library.......and ponder no more.

I just did an estimate of the Calories in the first day's diet listed above.
It comes in around 1200 Cals, 45g pro, 25 fat, 182g cho

I used to go close to that many calories in my sleep. When I was a young fella trying to gain weight and strength for the gym, I used to make up balls of honey, skim milk powder and peanut butter. I would store them beside my bed so that when I woke up in the middle of the night I had easy access to cheap protein.

I definitely gained weight. Nowdays I have to sleep in the bedroom furthest away from the fridge so that I don't eat in the middle of the night.

When I was 18, I worked in an office of 6 people. I realised stregth comes in numbers and use to feed the office for like $1.50 each a day. This would get $2 chips, couple frankfurts, a bottle of ecks soft drink for 68 cents, cheap loaf of bread for 80 cents, and baically anything else we could get on sale :)

There are chickens here for eggs, and oil, green pepper, tomato, icing sugar, can tomato paste we used from here.

So we seem to be able to survive pretty good on average $60-$70 week.

Meals so far:(still have 1/2 grocery supplies left)
cereal & toast
bacon, eggs, beans, toast
mini pizza made on buns
tuna and cheese burgers
lamb mince patties with mashed potates and carrots
lamb mince patties with rice & vegetables
sausage coil and baked potatoes and carrots
Made a homemade cake
will be making homemade cinnamon buns
we always take cordial with us in car, in case we get thirsty

If needed, we would have cut out candy.
We splurged one day and bought an ice cream cone each.
