A few last minute tax tips

From: Dale Gatherum-Goss

Hi

I thought it might be helpful if I posted a few ideas on how to use these last few weeks of this tax year to your tax advantage.

I hope that they help in some small way

Dale

Ummm Dale, a quick question regarding "dental". Does that include wisdom teeth removal? Surgeon charged $900, Hospital $390 & I got a small Medicare rebate for the anaesthetic. Can I still make a claim?

Hi

Yes, you can. Medical includes all medical related expenses. I've seen some wonderful things included.

Good luck and I hope that your total medical expenses allows you to recover some of that pain.

That is interesting. Can I get Laser Hair Removal through on a claim too?

Hope so, cause it costs me a fortune.

Thanks
Hairless....

Hi

That depends. Do you have a doctors certificate recommending the procedure? If so, then yes, you might have a valid claim.

Over the years, I have included such claims for clients as:

* breast implants - YES, I really did claim those on a tax return!!!
* gym fees - this was a special situation with specific conditions or facts involved, but, it goes to show what MIGHT be included.

Have fun

Hmm... good thing I read the sentence before this again - I was wondering why on earth YOU would need breast implants Dale ?

Hi

There are some things you should never ask . . . and I was most impressed when the lady in question decided that it might help her chances by showing me her photos.

Have fun

So she made a clean breast of it?

Was it a damn shame, or a sham dame?

Dale,
Thanks for all the info dude.
What about all the Property Investment courses and investment books that i have bought....can they be used as personal development, and hence be offset by my Personal Income...or do I have to offset them with the income they generate...i.e. Prop Investment Rental or Capital Gains?
Thanks
Khurram
