ACT purchase - contract just in husbands name

Hi Guys,

Anyone familiar with ACT conveyancing / stamp duty rules in regards to adding a wife to a contract which is currently just in hubby's name. It's after exchange but prior to settlement (as is an off plan purchase stamps have been paid already).

Anyone familiar with ACT conveyancing / stamp duty rules in regards to adding a wife to a contract which is currently just in hubby's name. It's after exchange but prior to settlement (as is an off plan purchase stamps have been paid already).

You can possibly settle with both names on transfer without need to change the contract and nominal stamp duty.

Tell client to seek the advice of their solicitor.
