Any Bird Watchers Out There???

Wondering if we have any bird watchers (talking about the ones with feathers - not the ones on the beach) out there in Somersoft land?? If so have you ever been on a bird watching tour? What was it like? Was it worth the money?

I'm trying to help our town attract visitors and thought this could be an option.

Hi CharlieandKath

We went to Galapogas last year and we had a few bird watchers in our group. Eucador is the bird watching capital of the world. At first I wasnt overly taken but after spending a couple of days with them we bought some binoculars and got into it. They were specifically there to bird watch.

I think it is a great idea because it is a niche market. Eucador Tourism website might give you some ideas.

Assuming your area has a higher than average number of birds which are either rare or a lot of different types in one area it could be a goer.

I seem to recall reading about a lodge somewhere in the Nullarbor that specialises in this, must be some demand for it.

Edit: Found it here http://www.nullarbornet.com.au/towns/eyreBird.html

Perhaps dinner by a billabong sipping wine, watching the birds and the sunset, sounds alright to me.
