Any "nuts" out there record rain fall?

Hi All,

I'm one of those nuts, just started to record rainfall.

Looking for a spreadsheet to record the figures in. I could make one up but why reinvent the wheel when someone else might have already done it :)

Thanks in advance :)

Nah; what's the point? It always rains eventually. The suits on the news/weather will tell us what's goin' on.

On this note, and a deliberate thread hi-jack;

What about theses doinks who, every year when we get an early hot spell in November in amongst the rain storms (as we always do), trot out the old classic;

"we're in for a hot summer".

Oh, yeah.....

Now, I ask you; what the hell has this got to do with anything?

Take a look at Michael Palin's Yorkshire Ripping Yarn (or whatever it's really called) to see what sort of person is interested in rain gauges. :p

u are only a genuine nut when you have an automated gauge that updates to your database automatically :)

Gosh Rolf...that's really posh. I have a mate in Cairns, who has recorded the temperature in his house every hour for the past 10 years. He uses a themometer and a spreadsheet. Awesome stats.

I suppose I'm a rainfall and weather nut.

We have every fall of rain recorded on my farm since 1938. And from earlier on the properties my ancestors owned before then. At 6.00 am, we tip out the rain from the previous day and record it.
The old man has it all recorded on a computer spread sheet, as well as the original copy in farm diarys.

This site has an on-line rain gauge, that I also use....

You would have to sign up first.

The bureau of metorology, BOM, have historic rainfall info. Google BOM.

Click on 'water and the land'. Click on 'historic daily rainfall'.

Or another place for historic rainfall and records, including temps is this one,...
