Anyone heard of Tony Barton?

From: Dale Gatherum-Goss

Hi

Just wanted to know if anyone had heard of a Tony Barton? My son wants to start investing (he's 16 and has read ALL the books that I have) and has made contact with this fellow.

I'm just wary . . . maybe it's the accountant in me!!

Thanks

Dale

Hi

Thanks for that. I knew about the Burley link as that is how my son found him.

I'm keen to allow my son the room to do his own research and to act independently of me,although I'd like the background info to put my mind at rest.

Thanks

Dale

Dale,
I've actually spoken to Tony personally. Came pretty close to working for him actually. From what I know he's a pretty stand up guy, very honest and straightforward. His angle is doing L/O's for other people and taking a cut. He does them mostly for Aussies with large incomes working O/S who want somewhere to park their money. However, don't let this discourage you. He does work with small investors also. Give him a call, I'm sure he would be more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have. Check out his website at: maxtonproperties.com.au (I think). I do know his companies name is Maxton Properties, so it should be close.

Hi Mark!

Thanks for this info and thank you to everyone else who has contacted me off list as well.

I'm keen to stay out of the equation and allow my son James enough freedom to make his own way. I just wanted a little background info on the guy to ensure that he was OK and not a crook.

Thanks again

Dale

Dale,

Curious to know how you engendered the desire to invest at such a young
age.. How did you go about instilling good money attitudes into your kids?

Cheers,

Duncan.

He's an accountant... he's probably had the kids doing tax returns for him since about age 5 ;-)

Sim,

Especially around end of financial year when the workload increases :)

Hi Sim

Actually, yes, James has worked for me for some time now. He earns no pocket money because that is not tax deductible, however, he does earn a wage for the work that he does around the business and IP's.

Have fun

I can recommend Tony Barton to anyone that is interested in finding positive cashflow properties. I have purchased 6 properties in the past 8 months with Tony's help and have not had any problems at all.

I think his website is undergoing some
updating as he moved office recently. I have
had several discussions with him and can
provide email and telephone numbers if you
email me.
