Application timings?

Just wondering (mainly for the Perth people, especially for people who has dealt with City of Melville).

Roughly how long does it take for a DA to be passed by council approval once it has been handed in? Also how long would it take to get the construction certificate as well?

Not familiar with melville but you should be looking at 8-12 weeks for an average time frame. Depending on backlog, if your paperworks complete and as long as your not trying to push to many envelopes.

A phone call to the planner looking after your DA will probably be most useful.

Have not put in DA yet, but what I can tell you is Melville City Council have been excellent to deal with, also Aaron Sice has also indicated they are excellent. The planners I chat to seem to know their stuff. Hopefully they will be as good as Cockburn Council, they were amazing, 4 weeks for DA approval.
Million times better than Stirling, but that would not be hard to beat

have also heard from builder who renovated my residence before that melville are good to deal with.
