back dating contract

My firends wnats to buy a new house. the builder suggeted if he makes a better offer, he will back date the contract and he will save $7000 on stam duty. Does this have any legal issue for the buyer? Thanks,

Adjustments like these, while illegal, get done very often. The world runs on preception. I assume if anything went wrong both would get in trouble, which provides a reason to keep things ok between one another. Yeah yeah i know its not the best thing to do. This by no means means that i agree with it but its not uncommon.
