Best Banks

A recent issue of Mortgage Professional Australia asked brokers to rank their favourite banks.

The lenders were scored out of 5 on a variety of criteria. Overall results were:

  1. ANZ
  2. ING Direct
  3. CBA
  4. AMP
  5. Bendigo and Adelaide
  6. Citibank
  7. St George
  8. Bankwest
  9. Suncorp
  10. Westpac
  11. NAB

That's got to be a big kick in the pants for heavies on the bottom two rungs of the ladder, though would they care?

Westpac has been trumpeting about its increased sales volumes lately which appear to have been achieved without the support of the broker community.

Despite coming bottom in the overall scores, NAB scored the highest for best interest rates. ANZ was tops for best product range and best credit policy.

It would be interesting to hear what the brokers on the forum have to say.

Suprised to see CBA so high, suprised Homeside not mentioned and a little miffed at why NAB is rock bottom.
No suprises (to me) that ANZ is on top.

what day of the week is it :)

Having ANZ at the top of the pile is possibly due to some alien factor, but it cant be rate, lmi cost, consistent application of credit policy, or client care factor..............so why the no 1 rank ?

A useful question to ask would be, of this elephant volume, what is new to bank client, and what is low fruit.
