Buying direct from a vendor

What is the process when buying direct from a vendor? Are they likely to have a contract or do you put an offer in and wait for them to speak to their solicitor?

Depends how organised/experienced the vendor is...and also how much of a hurry they're in :)

Anytime we have purchased directly from the vendor, we generally write up an offer to agree on, then we go to our lawyer to have the offer officially written up and sent to his lawyer.
Pretty straight forward.

You should always have your offers in writing so that there is no miss-understandings on what was agreed on. If you want, you can also download from the internet a standard contract template for your state, although my preference has allways been to have a solicitor draw up the contract which allows you to include any other conditions and terms.

Wishing you every success,
