Can I depreciate this?

Hi all

I just bought an IP and am not sure if it's worthwhile getting in a quantity surveyor to get a depreciation schedule? I haven't had experience with this before.

The property is a unit, 38 years old, previous owner put floating floorboards in about 3 years ago, modern-ish kitchen and bathroom (but not brand new)... no receipts for any of this.

What would you advise? Do you think it's worthwhile?

it should only cost about $600
and should be able to get alot more than that back

a few of the well known companys wont charge you for the report if you wont make the cost of the report or 2x the cost back.
BMT are one of them. 600 odd for the report.

BMTQS are very good and sometimes offer discounts through property managers which is worth checking. Washington Brown or Somersofts very own Depreciator.

Definitely worth getting if there are relatively recent renovations.
