Car insurance quote variations

Hi all,

I was wondering why the insurance for my car differed so much based on my address (and before anyone goes and says suburb this and that, its not as simple).

Say my address is 123 Fake St Sydney, i put the following details

123 Fake St Sydney - $892
121 Fake St Sydney - $688
125 Fake St Sydney - $688

So i decide to try and put Flat 1, 123 Fake St Sydney, it can't find the address, so it gives me a premium of $695.

What is with my address 123 Fake St? Is it black listed or something? I've never had a policy with this insurer and a perfect driving record for the last 14 years.

Only thing I can think of is that the previous owner of the house was a really bad deal for insurers... any ideas?

Did you get the same variance with a different insurer?

All I can think is someone has made a claim at that address before.

Tried budget direct, no variance. NRMA site is down, will try that tomorrow.
It does seem like some previous claims have been made, wouldn't surprise me, previous owner was a bit dodgy.

I still get RTA letters for his brother in law even after 5 years coming to this address. They just can't be bothered changing it.

Is there anyway to get this fixed?
