Changes to the WA FHOG (First Home Owners Grant)

Changes to the WA FHOG (First Home Owners Grant) to be effective mid September 2013.
• Grants for people entering into contracts to buy or build a new home and owner builders will increase from an amount of $7,000 to $10,000.
• Grants for people entering into contracts to purchase an established home will decrease from an amount of $7,000 to $3,000.
• Duty concession and exemption arrangements for first homebuyers will remain unaffected.
All other eligibility requirements will remain unchanged, and the Office of State Revenue will update its website and publications accordingly

Still a pretty generous scheme for established homes compared to the other states.

I am surprised that they didn't scrap the $7k grant altogether like they did in the other states.

These days in Perth you can't get anything for under $400k so the $3k grant is effectively nothing.
