Cheap Landlord insurance.

I've just received a quote from AAMI for some building and landlord insurance and got quoted $693 for my latest aquisition. Geez, that's expensive.

Does anybody know of an insurer that insures damages to the property and the more common bits? Not interested in rental insurance, as I think thats what props up the price a bit.

Thanks.

You should just shop around , allianz has a online quote calculator, might mean a little bit of leg work ringing around but you might save a few dollars. But dont just go for what is cheap because when the time comes that you might ever have to claim you might be kicking yourself if the cheaper insurer you picked is hard to claim with or has hidden things you didnt know about.
I personally have mine with RACV they have multi policy discounts if you have other insurance with them eg cars etc.

Try NRMA or Honan Insurance....

I'll second Terri Scheer. I dislike insurance in general but they're pretty good.

Can I ask if this is the prices you pay for your individual policies, or is this off their website? Alarm bells would be ringing for me immediately if they have standard set fee for a LL policy in each state ignoring the hundreds of variables that come into play when it comes to an insurance policy.

Anyone had any experience with EBM? A few of the PMs I've spoken to have recommended them.

We've claimed (some of them into the thousands for super-duper tenant trashings) quite a few times, and found they process quite quickly, and without fuss.

Cheers,

The Y-man

Yes ,this is the price I pay and also get 5% off when pay online.
TScheer is part of VERO insurance (I guess) & policies are only available to properties managed by a Licensed Real Estate Agent.

Policy does NOT cover the building & only for Malicious Damage and Theft by the tenants, etc ....building covered by starta insurance.
