Choosing new carpet from a distance

Hi forumites, wanting to replace carpet in a brisbame rental but so hard to judge quality and colour online. Wanting a solution dyed nylon twist. Obviously carpet shop A and carpet shop B have different carpets. Obviously a higher weight is better as is a better rating. What else? And what colour? I was thinking a medium brownish grey. Carpet is for bedrooms, hallways and stairs. Suburb is fairly premium and house is big, nice but not fancy, new or posh. I have asked the carpet shops to post me a one inch piece of the carpets that may be suitable but not sure if they will stray from pickup only of those enormous sample books. We live in a rural area so I cant even look at carpet nearby let alone in brisbane. Any thoughts appreciated.

I recommend the Canadian bay range from carpet court.
Colours i would recommend are berber grid charcoal or beat street.
I have seen beat street in several rentals i think. It's dark and hard wearing.
Looped nylon carpets are said to be durable and suitable for IPs.
Not sure if Canadian bay suits stairs.
Nb: it's not a luxury carpet range.

If its a rental, and you have no intention of moving in I wouldnt overly stress about it, go to your local carpet shop and get samples. Send the one you like to the shop near your rental and ask them to match it as close as possible.
