City of Stirling (WA): Single Dwellings Exempt from Planning Approval

The City of Stirling has confirmed that compliant (DTC) Single Residential Dwellings will no longer require Planning Approval. Compliant & privately certified applications will be processed within 10 days as part of the building permit process. The Local Planning Scheme Amendment was granted final approval by the minister for Planning this week. Arrangements will be made to the gazette in the next 2-3 weeks when the new provisions will become effective.

Unfortunately, single dwelling proposals within the Heritage Protection Area Special Control Areas, those affected by other Heritage Requirements, or designs addressing design principles (performance criteria) will have to be determined via the separate 60 day planning approval process prior to lodging a CDC for a building permit.
