Conveyancing Procedures

Please advise what a conveyancing solicitor will do from the date of a client's paying deposit to agent for purchase of a property to settlement date. Will there be any discussion with the vendor's solicitor on contract terms after sale date (is it the same as contract exchange date)?

Terms of the agreement are usually negotiated before entering the agreement. But it could be done after because of the cooling off period. Exchange occurs, in NSW, after the terms have been agreed on and involves the vendor handing over a signed contract and the purchaser handing over an identical signed contract.

Thanks Terry
What happens if there was a spelling mistake by the purchaser's vendor on buyer's name on contract? How can this be ratified?
