Cost to Push Plans thru Council - Sydney

Never done this before. Got the name of a development consultant by nabbing it off plans submitted by a neighbour in Sydney City council area.

He quotes about 6k to get my plans thru council and ready to build for simple back of terrace reno (plans also ripped off neighbour's architect as they have identical terrace and I want to do same as them)

Is 6k average, good/bad?? Can I get plans thru myself or is this inadvisable?thanks.

Depends what you're doing.

Do you mean the DA plans?

I pay $5k-5.5k through my guy.

A little off topic, but also account for the time it takes to get those plans approved. In my case (In Perth), it's taking a significant amount longer than I thought. And you know what they say...time means money.

Yes - DA approval I'm talking about - 5k is better than 6k, could you PM me your guy??

Any other tips for Sydney City DA approval for terrace renos?
How to get it through cheaply?
I expect it to take at least 6months and not in a hurry.
