Craigieburn VIC

There was a brochure in my mailbox advertising land for sale at Craigieburn, which is about 25km north of the Melbourne CBD.

All the "conventional" wisdom and indicators would suggest this area will not have great capital growth (abundant supply of land surrounding the area, distance from the city, etc).

But I did read that the electric rail line is going to be extended to Craigieburn and I wondered what people thought that was going to do to the suburb in terms of making it more attractive, and whether that might increase house prices.

At the moment Craigieburn is very much a "detached" suburb from everywhere else, in the sense that its housing does not abut another housing area directly.
