I Bought my first investment property in Kalgoorlie for $85,000 in 2007. It was never empty for the 3 years we owned it. Rent started at $165 a week and was renting for $320 when we sold it for $269,000 6 months ago.
Dysart was another winner for me. Bought for $320,000 in December 08, rented straight away for $950 a week then sold 2 months ago for $400,000.
I like the mining towns but was spooked by the GFC and decided to sell up. Am now wondering if this this was the right decision !! was for me at the time, I was getting stressed and couldnt sleep
