Deciding between a cattery or house/pet sitter

I vote house sitting.
Not a fan of any cattery.

Had our previous cat in a "cattery" for a month whilst away - only to find out, when I went to pick him up, he'd made himself totally at home and had the run of the place ... he was actually sleeping on the owners desk.

Also had him at the vet's "cattery" for overnighters and they thought he was the most wonderful, affectionate cat and adored by all the vet nurses.

Not sure what happened, but he must have a personality change as we go thru the door - at home he was definitely a "beware of the cat" type
