Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.
Some of the properties in rural areas get good rental returns(over 6%) but the management/maintenance fee is high(16.5%)
Are they worth getting into, I'd have to wonder about the capital gain.

Thanks in advance for any replies
Neil

G'day Neil,

There is quite a bit of good info in the Property Investor Archive.

Either click on the archive, click "Bottom", then "Previous" approx. 10 times - the Defence Housing threads are all labelled as "Defence Housing" so you won't miss them.

Or, use the "Search" function (select the "Archive" to search in), and put "Defence" as the keyword.

There are several posts discussing the apparent high cost, re-saleability, etc. Should be some good food for thought there.

And let us know how you went, won't you.

Regards,

Les

Neil

There are recurring debates on the forum about the pro's and con's of rental return Vs capital growth that will continue for next decade or two..

What ever the differences of opinion I believe that few of the participants would consider a rental return of > 6 % good for a rural area. >10 % maybe.
