Depreciation Timing

Hi - a bit new to this. Does it matter when a depreciation report is done if the property purchased has been owner-occupied, not previously rented? One property older than 25yrs has been gutted and renovated ready for tenancy (we were happy to wear the costs for this one). The other two we've not done a thing to but they could both do with a new vanity and some blinds.
