diagonal subdivison qld

just found a property sitting on a 810m block with 2 lots. Did a bit of research to find out that the 2 lots are subdivided diagonally.

Can someone please explain why someone would subdivide a land diagonally? If i do end up purchasing the property, can i get is back to 1 lot and then subdivide it the conventional way of side by side? And would there be a lot of cost involved ?

Apparently they were called a 'widow' block.

I imagine it would just require a boundary realignment to create two 'normal' looking blocks.

And the good news is that apparently have change their policy and no infrastructure contributions are payable. The last one I did you still had to front full 27k. I haven't seen the document to confirm but have been told by contribution team that is the case

Darryl, do you need to go through a consolidation and new subdivision or can you do a boundary realignment only?
