Dodgy as

Careful - my hubby will read this and you'll get him started on the use of the word "engineer" being applied to people who don't have a B.Eng.

You mean to tell me that I am not really a "domestic engineer" just because I don't have a B.Eng? I have a Miele vacuum cleaner. Would that suffice? :p:D

I suppose that happens in every industry.

.....except the financial advice industry.....those guys are different.

The more certificates and plaques on the wall, the more memberships and fellowships to organisations, the better advice you are going to get and hence the richer you will be. :)

Funnily enough when I became a diesel fuel injection tradesman my trade certificate states that I'm a "Mechanical Engineering Tradesperson - Diesel Fuel Injection" it was an ongoing joke at our workplace...qualified engineer - $16 per hour!!

Boods

When I graduated from Petroleum Engineering, Esso offered me a job down in Melbourne on the princely salary of 28K p.a.

48 weeks x 40 hrs per week worked out at $ 14.60 per hour.

Your $ 16 per hour sounds pretty good to me. Why was it a joke ??
