Extended Vacancy Update

Hi and thankyou to all the responses. My brother had actually told me about the responses before I had time to read them.. But heres an update.

We returned to Bankstown today and saw our Agent... We noted the high volume of lease signs on all the new units. We walked into our property managers office and said we dont care about the flooded market. We said lower the rent and get us a tenant today or we walk.

We then authorized another agent to obtain a set of keys without informing our original agent.

We drove home... And you wouldn't believe it.. we have returned home with the message machine hot with the news from our original agent that we have a tenant. ha ha ha With a healthy 12 month lease and an automatic rental increase in 6 months.

Amazing how things change when the shoe is on the other foot. Cheers - Martin

My cynical side tells me your threat put you at the top of the list. None of the other owners were about to walk, so the next tenant became yours.

A good result for you nevertheless.
