Fallen tree

Hi all,

I'm currently renting a property. Due to the strong winds last night, one of the trees in the backyard has fallen over. In cases like this, am I responsible for the removal of the fallen tree or is it the responsibility of the owner?

I can't find mention of it in the Tenancies act or the tenancy contract so I thought Id check here to see if anyone knows.

Thanks,
Swanqueen

It is normally covered by the property insurance.

You should just contact the letting agent / landlord and then insurance should take care of it.

Assuming this is a large tree.

And note that the landlord can only remove it if they have been advised so get in contact with them (preferably in writing so you have a record)

Thanks everyone. I have reported this to the PM.

Thankfully there was no damage to the property or the neighbours property. Minor damage to some of my potted plants but those can be easily replaced.
