Ok, i have bitten the Bullet, and decided i need a career change!I am relativly young at 26, i am a Aircraft Structural engineer at the moment, and i am looking to get into the Financial Planning field, the pay is very good compared to what i get paid making sure 500 or more people dont die whenever a 747 takes off! but yeah, i am also interested in the purks as well, acess to loans and other financial products etc.

what i need to know is what, where and how do i go about getting the appropriate training to apply for a position for a FP.

Thank you

Hi Robert

You can start by contacting the Financial Planning Association of Australia.

They will be able to provide almost all details.

Hi Robert,

You can get the information from the Financial Planners Association in your
state or Securities Education Institute (a branch of the stock exchange). A
number of universities now offer courses in financial planning. The last
time I checked, five years ago, you could be employed after completing the
first unit but that was in the transition phase when a lot of unqualified
people were giving advice. Do the obvious and check out the employment
section of the paper and see what qualifications they want.

good luck

Robert,

And Stock Exchange them self provide training for planners and stockbrokers.
In fact they did run paid seminars just recently.
I am sure they have more info if you are prepared to contact them.

Hey, do not forget about us, once you joint the fast truck. Come and say hello occasionally.

Good luck.
