First invesment property at what age, your circumstance?

I'd love to understand at what circumstance you were in when you purchased your first investment property (not PPOR)?

Just want to understand a bit of the demographics - this post may even help people like me, and others, feel a bit more comfortable with taking the first move.

Marital status at the time?

Age at the time?
  • 12-17 years old
  • 18-24 years old
  • 25-34 years old
  • 35-44 years old

  • 75 years or older

Income range range at the time?
  • $10000 - $49000
  • $50000 - $99000
  • $100000 - $149000
  • $150000 - $199000
  • $200000 - $249000
  • $250000 - $299000
  • $300000 - $349000
  • $350000 - $399000
  • $400000 - $449000
  • $450000 - $499000
  • $500000+

Any other loans at the time?
  • I.e. Had a PPOR loan you were paying off?

My circumstance as it stands:
- Age: 30
- Have a PPOR, married
- Have some equity, wanting to purchase first investment

I read Jan Somers first book back in the early 90's ??
It just made sense to buy were the rent covered everything.
Still doing that today.

with enough research you should be ok!!! the biggest risk is not doing anything :)
 
I don't really fit the mould of your question.

I moved around a lot for work, so bought houses to live in, then kept them when I moved on.

My first one

100-150K.
No debt

No debt - but like Bran this was previously PPOR. Above stats are when it was converted to IP.

I am very much interested to know how you achieved $200k-$250k income range below 24yrs old? I just want to learn.

12 really? hahaha....i dont think bank allow any person under 16? to get a mortgage ( correct me if im wrong....i have never sign up anybody under 17 before lol)

Quite interesting topic.
Our first IP was bought in 2011
I was 23 and my (now) husband was 33.
We were living together (renting)
Our (joint) income was about $110k

Other info:
no other loans but hubby had some (bad) debt that we were paying off.
