a lot of day traders here and many rampers (people trying to put up the prices in stock they own by positive posts, although they have licensed moderators who remove many posts under some fairly strict guidelines). Just be very careful about whose advice you take...remember they are all strangers and you don't know their motivations.

I think the best one is

They rate some people as senior members and they seem to be able to answer any question very patiently and unbiased. They don't tolerate ramping or rudeness either.

I have to warn you though.......posting a question is like walking into a pub and asking everyone for financial advice, take it all with a pinch of salt and as always.......DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS!

There is in the US - its Motley Fool - http://www.fool.com

The only problem I find with it that they discuss US companies. However, they discuss how to value a company, how to choose stocks etc. They also have very good discussion boards and seminars. I have been looking for a similar site based in Australia but haven't been able to find one yet - but, as you, I still keep looking.

Motley fool has an Australian message board on the site itself. There are a few Australians that post to it but mostly it seems to answer US questions on the ASX.
