Gas/Water/Power - Do I need to get them in my name first for a new IP?

I will be taking possesion of my new IP in a few weeks but just need advice on when or if I should get the power, gas and water changed into my name on settlement and prior to leasing to the first tenant?

The house is currently owner occupied but when they move out I would still like to have access to the utilities pending the arrival of a tenant so I can do some maintenance.

Will Integral Energy (power) and Council (water/gas) leave them connected pending the new tenant/owner or do I have to have the connected into my name first to ensure access then disconnected then reconnected into the Tenants name at a later date?

I am hoping that the vacancy period will be <7days given the strong demand for rentals in the area but you never know.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

David
