Gold Coast Ray White The Event 2015

Hi guys,
I'm hearing about this annual Event organised by Ray White Surfers Paradise Group where they auction off Gold Coast properties in January to 200,000 or so buyers. They collate premium properties and apartments. Has anyone been to it? My parents are thinking of selling their 4 bed 2 bath resort style house near Broad Beach through that. Just not sure if it is good/bad with better exposure/sales, etc. Any advice/tips?

Go along and watch.
Personally I don't like gala events like this as a buyer. In a normal auction you turn up along with 30 others of which there may be 1-7 bidders. You can see your competition. In the gala events a large spread of suburbs and buyers make it difficult to gauge the actual interest in a suburb or particular property.

Mind you if a property is passed in you are in the driver's seat.
