Agreed. Often it is better to just walk away. Sometimes though the conduct of the buyer/ loss to the seller is significant. 2 of mine involve deposits in the hundreds of thousands.

interesting. I went in on my personal name with a cash offer on a $3m+ deal before the GFC with settlement after/during the GFC. When it came time to stump up I didn't have it. Lost my $50k deposit and waited every day for a year for that writ to turn up, it never did. they resold for $1.3m less than my offer.
