Hi Brazen,

A quick question for you.

Is it possible to convert a detached garage to 2 separate ensuite bedrooms?

Also, my local council (Auburn) did mention a while ago that they would not approve the conversion of a garage to granny flat because I must have a garage for at least 1 vehicle to park in.

Is this valid if I go through SEPP?

Hi Michael,

Extra Ensuite-yea, sure you can have that but you cant seal it away from the rest of the granny flat. i.e. You can't create 2x separate granny flats, at east not legally if that's what you're trying to achieve.

Auburn Council question: That's their DCP (policy), not the SEPP. We would apply under the SEPP which doesn't take (existing/proposed/removal of) parking into acccount.
