Z Zhouse01 9th Jun, 2010 #1 Right now the property i have has a 2.4m drive way so its not suitable for dual occupancy. If i build a granny flat at the back can i get it changed to dual occupancy if i choose to demolish the front house further down the track?

B BlackSpider 9th Jun, 2010 #2 How wide does a driveway have to be to qualify for dual occupancy? If you build a granny flat at the back, won't it then be considered dual occupancy anyway, even if you don't demolish the front house?

From what i have been told in NSW the minimum width is 3m for the drive way plus 1m for plants. Technically it would be dual occupancy but you cannot get separate utilities and things like that.
