Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution

Just been reading a section 32 for a rural block of land and it states a growth area infrastructure contribution may need to be paid, but it also may be exempt. The block of land is about 2kms away from power and i dont know how far the nearest sewage point is. Does anyone know who to call about a growth area infrastructure contribution? Council? Electric Company? Water Company? Someone else?

Normie,
GAIC is administered by the SRO (State Revenue Office).

This tax is levied on areas that are undergoing rezoning primarily in growth zones in Vic.
The ruling is quite obscure and the SRO and your conveyancer “should” be able to help you out.
From memory – it is currently set at 95K per hectare.

This formed part of Brumby's 2030 stratergy, funny how in the news today that Bailliue is looking at scrapping 2030 and will be coming up with a new blue print for Melbournes growth.
