Handover of brand new property

Hi Guys,

Just wanted your thoughts of things to check on the day of handover. Here is a list of things I would check.

-paint defects (internal & external).
-everything on your contract is installed (phone points, power points, tv points, heating & cooling points)
-check power points are functioning.
-check all lights work.
-check appliances, oven, rangehood, hot water, heating, cooling.
-opening and closing of doors & windows.
-check external guttering.

Is there anything else that you would check?

Just quickly. If your comfortable in doing a defect inspection, great, if not get someone in to do a handover inspection.

Other than looking at everything make sure you get ALL the certificates for the property.

I'm not going to list them all as its bed time.

Is there anything else that you would check?

I would arrange for a professional to work their wayt through it but you could also add to your list:

- Check that the top and bottom of all doors are painted and close properly
- No glazing is scratched
- All locks have keys and they are working
- All walls are plumb
- All rubbish from external removed
