Heater damaged by mice/rats

From: Manny B

Howdy there,

Does anyone know if the home building insurance covers damages caused to a heater by rats/mice (basically eaten away all backing, wires, fans, etc.) on an IP? I called my building insurance & said that damages caused by vermin are not covered... has anyone experienced anything like this?

Would the landlord insurance cover this?

Thanx in advance,

Manny.

Obviously, you where mistaken. It wasn't mice and rats. It was ...
electrical failure... children playing where they shouldn't... check
what _is_ covered.

Thanx for your responses....

So if the heater "just stopped working", that isn't covered by the insurance is it? if so I've missed out on many claims in the past...

Cheers,

Manuel.
