I would like some pointers on How to manage one's rental property without involving an agent. Could anyone direct me to useful sites. Where could I get the standard forms (such as for Agreement, Property Inspection etc)

Hi NIT MAN,

"Everything" you need to know can be found in a book called :

"Managing Rental Property" by Phillipa Bellemore. This book has been published in association with the Department of Fair Trading and can be found at all major bookstores. It explains the laws, gives you practical scenarios and copies of ALL forms that you need. (Eg) Bond, Lease. The thing I really like about this book is that it gives you examples of letters you can send to your tenant if say you wanted to raise the rent, evict them etc etc.

Try the newsagents for a lease pack and read S.Bilosh's book "The Australian Landlord's Handbook". Be thorough with the condition report and maintain a professional (but not too friendly) relationship with your tenants.Good Luck!
