Henry Report

Quite frankly all working families applaud you

Quite frankly Jingo I am astonished at your post , kudos have been administered post haste on behalf of all working Oztralian families. :D

Agree entirely with your post and sentiments. Hopefully we will have an early election......... ** crosses fingers and toes** ;)

Is the government putting anything into finding/mining these minerals and metals?

To be fair, if the government start putting their hands into finding/mining resources, people will start to accuse the government of nationalisation of resources, I'm sure some name calling like socialist and communist will come up again then.

By Jingo, I think he's lost it.

Obviously hasn't lived in a facist, nazi, dictatorship regeme. Or an anachist society, or an impoverished society.

Last Anzac day I saw people who had truly seen the worst and best of human nature. And these ordinary people fought and died for our freedom of choice. Not for facism, etc. And I lost family in a few of those wars.

We have a ballot box coming up that they gave us, so please show some respect. Enjoy your freedom of speech that others dont have, but lets peg the emotiveness a bit. This is a constructive forum, not destructive.

The right wing ravers out again I see.

Todats reports talking about how the miners screams of moving offshore are mostly full of hot air!

The age editorial even calls the scheme 'smart' although they descrobe the self confidence as arrogant. Fair enuf too...

Point taken, rambada,

My response was over the top. Apologies to those who have lived and suffered first hand through these governments and to those who have fought and died to maintain our freedom here in Aust.

Certainly wasn't my intention to offend - will be more thoughtful before I post next time.

Regards Jason.

The mining companies aren't going anywhere. They have a lot of bargaining power though, and of course they are going to band together to fight this tax. It will be interesting to see whether the govt will call their bluff or bow down. I guess that will depend on the polls, but if they lose the election they won't have any decisions to make will they.

There's two really good arguments for and against this tax, and it seems that the majority are leaning towards against, which means the mining company rhetoric is winning.

Whether the tax goes ahead or not, I don't think there's too much to worry about.

Anyone else buying up shares in this dip?
