Hi everyone,

Can some bright spark please tell me if there is a Government Department that can tell me statistics like

a. median price of housing in a city ( Gold Coast)
b. Percentage of rentals in a suburb
c. Age of population in a suburb

Thanks

Alan,
You should be able to get median rental prices from the Real Estate Institute in your state, I think it's reiq.com.au from memory? If that doesn't work, look for Real Estate Institute of Queensland at Google or something. As for percentage of rentals, you can get some rough estimates at realestate.com.au, just go to the suburb/area you want and get a suburb profile. These wont give you exact figures, but you can pay for exact percentages for about 10 bucks I think. Also, Residex may do these sorts of things. Don't know how much they charge, I've never used them. Lots of people on the forum think they're pretty good, though.
