Insurance for Townhouse

I am aware that the body corporate (Brisbane area) covers building insurance. Is this standard practice.? How do I get a copy of the insurance Certificate of currency for providing to bank. Any advise appreciated. Cheers

Yes, it's standard practice.

Usually it should be included in the contract of sale, however... if you're still in the process of finalising the sale, just ask your conveyancer to email the selling agent and request a copy. In my case, it was a bit more convenient for me to go straight to the selling agent and tell him if he didn't give me a copy, then the bank wouldn't lend me the money. He was pretty quick to respond.
